ACCELERATION
At Foothill College, the sequence of English courses includes 209-110, and 1A. If your assessment test places you into 209 and/or 110, you qualify to take English 1S/T, which is an Accelerated Integrated Reading & Writing Pathway. English 1S/T is UC and CSU transferable and satisfies Foothill GE, so while taking 209, 110, and 1A takes a minimum of 3 quarters to complete, the accelerated pathway provides an opportunity to satisfy your English requirement in 2.

- be prepared to dedicate 21 hours per week to class time and homework (7 units total)
- Take the courses back-to-back (Fall/Winter, 2017-18)
- Take the same instructor for English 1S/T and English 242A/B
- Be ready to embrace challenging, transfer-level content and the hard work it will take to meet the course outcomes
